Our Data Prep service is primarily aimed at PCB manufacturing or designers, but we can generally turn our hand to most CAD skills.

Our normal service allows us to take raw PCB data and analyse and optimise the data, making a complete tooling package that is ready to hand over straight to the shop floor. Whether you use us for one-off difficult jobs, or as part of a service when your capacity is reduced, or as a dedicated front-end department catering for all of your tooling needs - we are always on hand to provide a quick, efficient and accurate service.

Typical tasks when preping PCB data includes Design Rule Checks (DRC), Netlist Analysis, Design 4 Manufacture (D4M) tests, Panelisation, Optimisation, NC Drilling, NC Tooling, test Data etc etc.

If you are a PCB assembly house, then we can go one step further and produce the optimised SMD centroid/assembly file, and even process the screens and paste layer stencils to match.

PCB Data Prep - why should I bother?...
PCB Designers have many great skills - they have to keep up with the latest technology and trends on many different levels - so why should you be asked to add an indepth knowledge of PCB manufacturing to your already overflowing list of jobs?

PCB manufacturers have the same problems - technology is moving so fast, that to spend years training up skilled front-end staff is a huge responsibility and drain on resources.

That's where our Data Prep services come to the forefront. Our engineers have many many years of experience between them, and can relieve the pressure on you. A badly 'preped' board can mean expensive remakes and costly time delays - but this can be avoided by a full analysis of your data before it goes to manufacture.

We'll use your design and manufacturing rules (if available) and create a report with the values found in over 50 separate checks. There is NO CATCH, there is NO COST and it really is FREE !!!

WHAT WE NEED

You need to send us your PCB data files - preferably in  274X Gerber data along with an IPC-356 netlist if available, although we can accept many other formats of manufacturing data. We will also need  you to fill out a specification sheet - telling us what types of analysis that you would like us to perform, and to what values etc.. You can use this form here.

WHAT WE'LL DO

We will run a complete analysis of your design data. This includes both standard and advanced DRC checks, and will go on to include DFF (design for fabrication) checks, Netlist Analysis, Layer Optimisation etc etc

We will run the design through our GerbTool / VisualCAM programs, which are created specifically to empower PCB designers and manufacturers to analyse data to ensure that boards can be made right - first time.

We will create you a full report which documents all of our findings.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER

We will send this report back to you free of charge. We will give you information on any specific areas that we find might compromise your design -  what problems we encountered and how we resolved them.  We will then give you a fully priced solution to enable you to process these files yourselves, or we can alternatively give you a price for creating these files in the future as a service bureau. There is no catch and we will not put you under any high pressure sales to commit.
